5K Run ~ 1 Mile Fun Walk
 
The forth annual Great Prostate Cancer Challenge is coming to Memphis on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 3:00pm at the Shelby Farms Visitors Center. On behalf of all of us working toward improving prostate health, research and awareness, we invite you to join us in supporting this important cause.
 
The GPCC is a heartfelt community event that brings together athletes, cancer survivors, caretakers, family members, friends and more. Over the past two years, the GPCC has grown to include 7 cities, over 5,000 participants and raised over $700,000 toward prostate cancer research.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
 
According the the American Cancer Society, one man in six will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. The disease is most common in African Americans, then over 50 and then with a family history. Awareness, screening and research are the keys to fighting this disease.
